Space, Time, and Soul:
We welcome Rabbi Jill Hammer who will guide us and inspire us through Shabbat. Rabbi Jill will lead us in several ancient and contemporary styles of Jewish meditation. We’ll celebrate with one another through prayer, movement, and time in nature. Through contemplation, guided visualization, and creative writing, we will expand our spiritual awareness and connect ourselves to the larger whole.
This Shabbaton will begin with Kabbalat shabbat and dinner on Friday night May 29th and end after breakfast on Sunday morning May 31st.
Rabbi Jill Hammer, PhD is the Director of Spiritual Education at the Academy for Jewish Religion, and the co-founder of the Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute, a program in Jewish women’s spiritual leadership. She is the author of five books:Sisters at Sinai: New Tales of Biblical Women, The Jewish Book of Days: A Companion for All Seasons, The Omer calendar of Biblical Women, The Garden of Time, and The Hebrew Priestess: Ancient and New Visions of Jewish Women’s Spiritual Leadership. She is also the author of essays, articles, poems, and stories for anthologies, journals, websites, and newspapers. She lives in Manhattan with her wife and daughter.
